Google Search Console<\/a> has always been a powerful tool for webmasters, online business owners, and analysts. It presents a whole lot of useful information that helps website owners understand their traffic sources, website visitors, and their behaviours.<\/p>\n

As of now, Google Search Console is a very powerful tool. However, it is going to get even more awesome.<\/p>\n

If reports are to be believed, Google is taking another step towards distinguishing data and analytics and presenting it to webmasters across the globe. Specifically speaking, Google has hinted that voice search reporting might be coming to Google Search Console Analytics report.<\/p>\n

What does it mean? And does it even matter?<\/p>\n

YES!<\/p>\n

It is exactly like when Google started distinguishing between desktop traffic and mobile traffic. It didn\u2019t seem like such a big deal, but with mobile being constantly on the rise, it started having a huge impact on website traffic and optimisation.<\/p>\n

Now, mobile traffic has surpassed desktop traffic and become the #1 priority for many webmasters, e-commerce owners, digital marketers, and professional bloggers.<\/p>\n

Similarly, now voice search is constantly on the rise. Mobile applications such as Siri<\/a>, Google Search<\/a>, and Cortana<\/a> have become a major part of our daily lives. And they are only going to get better and more involved. Keeping that in mind, it\u2019s only a matter of time that webmasters learn the true source of their traffic.<\/p>\n

John Mueller, Google Webmaster Trends Analyst, recently hinted in a Google hangout session that they are looking for ways to show webmasters the voice search data.<\/p>\n

His exact words were:<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t know what the exact plans are, but we have discussed something like that. To kind of make it easier to pull out what people have used to search on voice and what people are using by typing. Similar to how we have desktop and mobile set up separately.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

While this might be a tricky thing to do and could take a lot of time to materialize, it\u2019s still good to know that Google is working on it.<\/p>\n
